CBRN Trainer/Development Specialist

We are seeking candidates for a full-time CBRN Trainer/Development Specialist position. The position is available immediately. The CBRN Trainer/Development Specialist will support the company in its development, assessment, and manufacture of equipment systems for military end users. The CBRN Trainer/Development Specialist will assist the logistics teams by providing subject matter expertise, documenting and controlling system configurations, and developing processes and procedures for improved system maintenance and sustainment.

The selected candidate will be required to support full time on-site in the Edgewood, MD area and must be able to work in a highly charged and fast paced environment. Only US citizens can be considered for this position.

SUMMARY:

The CBRN Trainer/Development Specialist, under limited supervision, evaluates, designs, coordinates and delivers a comprehensive range of training and education programs in field of expertise. The role requires involvement in the planning, management, and delivery of various projects that enable us to expand its portfolio and its footprint in the Integrated Logistics field.

The CBRN Trainer/Development Specialist will be required to produce high-quality training products/documentation that contributes to the overall success of the organization. He/She will work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to make products easier to use. Employee will be part of an experienced, accomplished team who engage broadly across the organization. This position is located in Edgewood, MD.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing, implementing, and delivering tailored customer specific training programs, as well as revising, coordinating and conducting existing training programs
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts, OJT Trainers, and Management to develop competency based, technical training programs
  • Conduct analysis on training products to ensure the developed materials are technically accurate and functional within known equipment constraints
  • Present technically sound instruction to a target audience
  • Familiarize and train military/civilian personnel on military and commercial detection, sampling, and decontamination equipment
  • Prepare written reports
  • Review and update lesson plans and power point presentations
  • Provide oversight and subject matter expertise in support of field service operations
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an understanding of the documentation requirements
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Plan, develop, organize, and document operational procedures and manuals
  • Review manuals and data to ensure editorial and format consistency

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant training/development experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must possess a Secret security clearance, or qualify to secure
  • Graduate of the Instructor Training Course (ITC) or civilian equivalent
  • IFSAC/ProBoard certified HAZMAT Technician
  • Five (5) years’ experience, of which at least three years must be specialized.
  • Specialized experience includes: experience in developing and providing technical and end-user training
  • Ability to work independently or under limited supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Team oriented with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities 
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position is not responsible for Personnel supervision.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical Office/Instructional training setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The overall physical demand rating for a job of the CBRN Trainer/Development Specialist falls within the Medium classification. The employee must occasionally:

  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • Work in extreme weather conditions
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

This position requires up to 35 % travel to accomplish mission objectives and other tasks deemed necessary.
